The Role of your Community Service Worker
Community Service Workers (CSWs) are the people you meet when you enter Community Living disABILITY Services. CSWs are case managers who can give you information about services and supports.
A CSW is there to:
- help you and your support network develop a person-centred plan
- connect you and your family to services or supports in your community
- connect you to services or supports funded by Community Living disABILITY Services
CSWs also play an important role in protection. If someone makes a report that an adult living with an intellecutal disability has been abused or neglected, the CSW reviews the allegation, makes sure the appropriate follow up occurs, and that supports are provided.
Here is the job description of a CSW.
