Manitoba Justice Online Fine Payments

Many fines and tickets can be paid online, avoiding the potential inconvenience that comes with going to a court office in person. The online fine payment website is a secure service where you can pay with Visa or MasterCard.

Only full payments can be made online and they must be made between the response period shown on your ticket or by another due date approved by the court.

A voluntary payment made online is considered an admission of the offence indicated on the ticket. If you wish to dispute the charge and request a hearing, follow the instructions on the back of the ticket or refer to these Frequently Asked Questions.

There is no fee to pay your fine online. To pay online you will need:

Tickets can be paid online up to and including the final response date indicated on your ticket or the due date indicated on any notice you have received. They are usually processed within 24 hours. For detailed information about the online service, see below.

Online Fine Payment Frequently Asked Questions

What type of browser do I need to use this service?

Internet Explorer 6.0+, Safari 2.0+ or Firefox 2.0+ all with Javascript and pop-ups enabled.

What is the maximum number of fines or dollar amount that I can pay?

You may pay up to 10 fines. The maximum payment for one transaction is $9,999.99. The 10 fines can be any combination of a handwritten ticket, a photo enforcement ticket or a computer-generated ticket that can be paid online.

What credit card can I use to pay?

VISA or MasterCard are accepted. Payment will be processed in Canadian funds only. It will appear on your statement as " MB JUSTICE FINES/AMENDES".

Can I pay any fine online?

Only Provincial Offence fines can be paid online. Some tickets and fines cannot be paid online. They include cases where:

  • the fine has been sent to a collection agency and/or a driver's licence or vehicle registration has been placed on hold, or a hearing date has been set or requested
  • the ticket has no set fine amount, “TO BE DETERMINED BY A JUSTICE” is checked off and a fine has not yet been set by the court
  • items were seized when the ticket was given and the items have not yet been dealt with by the court
  • the fine is for a criminal offence

What should I do if I pay the wrong fine online by mistake?

If you paid the wrong fine online by mistake, call the Provincial Offences Court in Winnipeg at 204-945-3156, between 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, not including holidays.

Why can't I find my fine on the Manitoba Justice Online Fine Payment website?

Here are some of the reasons:

  • The ticket number or information number, date of offence or original fine payable may have been entered incorrectly.
  • Your fine may not yet be available on our system. Look for it again after the first response date shown on the ticket, but before the final response date. If you still cannot find your ticket, contact the Provincial Offences Court at 204-945-3156 in Winnipeg, between 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, not including holidays, before the final response date.
  • If you have requested your ticket be transferred to a regional court office for a hearing, or a hearing date was set, you will not be able to pay online unless you cancel the hearing. please call 204-945-3156 or 1-800-282-8069 to cancel your hearing date. Once your hearing date is cancelled you may require more time to pay or wait until your fine is put back online.
  • If your ticket has been sent to collections, you must go to a court office or call 204-945-5850 in Winnipeg to arrange to pay your ticket.
  • If any items were seized when you received your ticket, you will not be able to pay your ticket online unless the court has dealt with the seized items.

I paid my ticket, but I got a Notice of Default Conviction in the mail that the ticket wasn't paid. Why did this happen and what should I do?

It is possible a Notice of Default Conviction was sent to you before your online payment entered the system, like letters crossing in the mail. To make sure the payment was received, contact the court office in Winnipeg at 204-945-3156 or 1-800-282-8069. Give them the reference number printed on your Manitoba Justice Online Fine Payment confirmation.

I paid my fine through the Manitoba Justice Online Fine Payment website. When will the payment be processed?

Payments should be processed within 24 hours.

Can I make a partial payment with the online payment service?

No. The online payment service will ONLY accept FULL payment of your fines and tickets. If you are admitting the offence (pleading guilty) but requesting more time to pay please call 204-945-3156 or 1-800-282-8069.

My driver's licence and registration have been placed on hold. Can I still pay my fines online?

If your driver's licence or vehicle registration has been placed on hold, you cannot pay your fines through the Manitoba Justice Online Fine Payment website. Your fines have been sent to collections. You must pay the fines in person at any Provincial Court Office. You can call 204-945-5850 to inquire about your outstanding fines.

My fine payment is due today. Can I pay my fine through the Manitoba Justice Online Fine Payment website?

Yes. Payments can be made through the Manitoba Justice Online Fine Payments system on or before the final response date. If the system cannot locate your ticket number or information number you should contact the court office at 204-945-3156 or 1-800-282-8069 between 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, not including holidays.

I entered my credit card information but didn't receive confirmation that my payment was processed. How do I know if my fine was paid? Should I enter my ticket and payment information again?

If you did not receive an online confirmation, there may be a problem with your payment. To check on your payment, call the Provincial Offences Court in Winnipeg at 204-945-3156 or 1-800-282-8069 between 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, not including holidays. Be sure to provide any necessary information such as the date, approximate time of payment, amount of payment and ticket number or information number.

I didn't print my confirmation screen. Can I get another copy?

No. Your online payment receipt cannot be re-created. To confirm payment of a fine, contact the Provincial Offences Court in Winnipeg at 204-945-3156 or 1-800-282-8069  between 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, not including holidays

Why do I need to provide an email address?

You only need to provide an email address if you want your receipt emailed to you. Otherwise, you may print your receipt from the confirmation screen. A paper receipt will not be sent out to you in the regular mail. The province will not use the email address you provide to send you unsolicited mail.

I didn't get an email receipt, even though I entered my email address. Can it be re-sent?

If you did not receive an email confirmation, you may not have entered your email address, you may have entered an incorrect address, or the email receipt may be caught in a spam filter. The Provincial Offences Court cannot generate another email receipt. To confirm that payment was received, call the Provincial Offences Court in Winnipeg at 204-945-3156 or 1-800-282-8069 between 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, not including holidays.

Why is the balance outstanding amount different than the original fine payable amount shown on my ticket?

The amount you owe may have increased because:

  • a $100 default conviction penalty is added if you do not respond to your ticket ON or BEFORE the final response date. A default conviction will also be entered against you.
  • a $20 non-sufficient funds (NSF) fee is added to the balance owing if your cheque bounces when you pay your ticket.

Your fine may have gone down because:

  • a payment was made in person or by mail
  • the court reduced the fine as a result of an appearance in court
