Adoption
Birth Parent Counselling
Counselling is available to birth parents. It gives them the opportunity to discuss what they want for their child and to get information about their options and rights, including placing their child for adoption.
Birth parents can be part of an Openness Agreement that will describe the kind of contact they may have with the adoptive parents and child following adoption.
Birth parents can register with the Post-Adoption Registry for contact with their child at any time, but contact will not occur until the child is at least 18 years old.
