Fair Registration Practices Office
The FRPO Mandate
The Fair Registration Practices Office (FRPO) implements The Fair Registration Practices in Regulated Professions Act (act). With a focus on internationally educated applicants, the office is responsible for working with the self-regulated professions under the act to help ensure their registration practices are transparent, objective, impartial and fair.
The FRPO:
- provides regulators with information and advice concerning requirements of the act
- reviews registration practices of regulators for compliance with the act
- works directly with regulators to improve pathways to registration for individuals with foreign qualifications trying to establish their careers in Manitoba
- acts as a resource for government departments and other stakeholders
- reports to the Minister of Labour and Immigration on the implementation and effectiveness of the act
