Delay Motions

The Department is committed to upholding the Supreme Court of Canada sentencing principles set out in R v. Jordan, to ensure the criminal justice system resolves court matters in a timely manner. This metric tracks the number of motions filed by defence for a case to be dismissed on the grounds of unreasonable delay.
